ODEF’s Community Support workers are available to provide advice and practical assistance to groups in Ollerton and District. Many successful local organisations have been supported over the years, including Recycling Ollerton and Boughton, the Friends of Boughton Brake, local tenants’ and residents’ groups and Ollerton Youth Project. The team has also been involved in organising and fundraising for community events, such as the Ollerton Gala, Planning for Real and Warm, Well and Wise.
A variety of services are offered by the team – from helping to write constitutions to applying for funding and recruiting volunteers. If you run a group or community organisation, you will find some their services valuable. The areas they cover are:
- Organisational structure and legal matters
- Business plans, finance and book-keeping
- Fundraising
- Administration services, e.g. minute-taking, report-writing
- Marketing, publicity and campaigning
- Volunteer recruitment and personal development
- Preparation for AGMs and Annual Reports
