The ODEF Eco Shop
ODEF has been successful in obtaining a grant from the Alliance Market Towns Challenge Fund that will enable the opening of Ollerton's very first 'Eco Shop'.
The grant, together with other funding from Notts County Council and private sector partners, will be used to establish an outlet for the public, particularly local people and visitors, where Ollerton can show off its fine environmental credentials and raise the cultural identity of the town.
The Eco Shop will be located on the high street next to the NatWest bank and will showcase environmentally-friendly products from local suppliers and retailers. These will range from foodstuffs and cosmetics to energy-saving items and crafts. The shop will also be a focus for advice and information about green issues and important matters affecting the environment. For those who wish to get more involved, there will be opportunities for people to engage in volunteering work and to access training courses designed for the environment sector.
The shop is designed to fit in perfectly with the other environmental innovations in the town and will feature strongly in the forthcoming revised and updated publication of ODEF's 'Ollerton - All You Need To Know' guide which is due out this year.
