ODEF Transport Action Team news - new parking scheme for Ollerton
The Civil Parking Enforcement Project commences in Ollerton on 12 May 2008 and on this day Nottinghamshire County Council will take over responsibility for on-street parking from the police.
The Project should mean there will be less congestion, improved road safety and a greater availability of parking spaces which will improve vehicle 'turnover' and improve local trading. The enforcement staff that will be seen patrolling the streets are employed by NCP and all money collected from the penalty charges and administration of the scheme will be done by the County Council. The money collected has to be spent on highways improvements in the area. There will be 20 Civil Enforcement Officers covering the whole of the county.
