ODEF is building a sustainable future
ODEF has received a grant from Futurebuilders England to develop a major new training resource centre for Ollerton. The grant will be used to pay for the necessary planning and pre-development costs of the project. Futurebuilders England is an organisation that has been created by the Government and is responsible for strengthening and building the capacity of those in the voluntary sector who are delivering public services.
ODEF is the first voluntary group in North Nottinghamshire to receive such a grant, which is only awarded to organisations that have the ability and capability to expand the delivery of their services. Depending on the outcome of the current development work, Futurebuilders England is expected to invest substantially in ODEF's future plans for the delivery of training and education. These plans will include the expansion into new premises offering improved facilities for all of ODEF's clients with better access and more comfortable surroundings. All this will take place alongside further development of the online services that will be offered through the new Community Breaks interactive website. Part of the Futurebuilders' investment will be the implementation of phase two of the website, which will include additional features and support facilities. The work is expected to start after April 2008 and the new training resource should be open by late summer.
