ODEF firmly believes in community involvement and this means making the most of volunteering opportunities. Volunteers can work directly with ODEF on one of the Action Teams designed to tackle local issues, such as transport, tourism and disabled access. There are also numerous thriving community and voluntary groups in the ODEF area, many of which require support and the skills of new members. These groups are detailed in the Community Register.

As well as knowing that you are making a positive contribution to the community, volunteering can help you develop your self-confidence, gain new skills and even a new job. If you are interested in volunteering – even if you only have a small amount of time to give – the Community Breaks project can help. We can provide you with volunteering opportunities by matching you with a suitable local organisation that is seeking support. You can download an application form for our matching service here, or contact us to find out more by telephoning 01623 863887 or emailing: carol@odef.co.uk or mike@odef.co.uk.
